Infectious bursal disease outbreak in Iceland

According to the World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), on September 19, 2019, the Icelandic Food and Veterinary Administration reported to OIE that an epidemic of infectious bursal disease had occurred in Iceland.
The outbreak was confirmed on 9 September. The source of the epidemic is unknown. The incident occurred on a farm in Rangrvalla.
 
At present, Iceland has taken measures to monitor both inside and outside the safe area/protected area. The epidemic is not over yet. The Icelandic Food and Veterinary Administration will issue follow-up reports every week.
